The Internal Battle for Personal Freedom

I was having coffee with a friend a few day’s ago and she was telling me of how much she felt she needed and wanted to change her life in being a better person for her Self, and family. Yet, I felt reluctance on her part in not wanting to commit and make a decision to take the first step to this change for her self, with this teaching and or any other teaching.
Sound familiar, or how about this one, a student that’s taken several workshops and power journeys to their deeper self and the “light” that brings them to a place that they have been avoiding in confronting them selves, so they start to project their limitation onto others. Or they may think they need to do this alone, so they make judgment’s about them selves and others and separate from the teacher and teaching and become victimized by their “better” sense in them that’s kept them running from something in them they don’t want to look at.
Any of those sound familiar? I know most of us have something that may be difficult to see for our selves. That’s where the teacher and teaching come to play. Both show the student what is not Truth in them giving each the opportunity to change to something that is Truth for them.
Just recently, I came across one of my limiting patterns of avoidance, my brother wanted support in placing our 95-year-old mother, that’s living with him, in a rest home and he called me for advice. I knew what the call was about, and it took me several day’s to call him back not really wanting to help him make that final decision. During those day’s everything came up for me to see and feel, especially those things in me that did not want to be seen by my better eye. All else around me came to a stand still, until finally yesterday after speaking with my Mentor and guide, I was able to break away from that denial of not wanting to take the responsibility of helping my brother make that decision for my mothers safety and well being.
The way I see it, it’s all about taking a risk, a risk with the intent of breaking old patterns and old behavior that have kept us living in victamstance and of course denial of what we need to do for our selves. If we don’t take that risk, for the first time or just continuing doing the work, we most likely become more entrenched in our limited behavior making it harder for us to change our way of relating with our selves and others. When we let our selves, with the help of the guide, see what our minds “thinks” is our reason for not taking the risk, it sounds ludicrous that we have actually believed that untruth that’s kept us living in denial for several day’s or for a life time.
Or at times, we come to the place of wanting to make change in our lives but we want to do it alone, with out the help of anyone. Many have and I must say that its been my experience that its so much easier when we have a guide, mentor, a teaching and a teacher, preferably, one that has done and is doing the teaching for them selves. I often remember my struggles with Don Miguel, he wanted so much for me, thank goodness, he never gave up and was always there with his love and respect, and of course, a huge teaching that felt so perfect for that moment. You notice I said “my struggles with Don Miguel” he had little to worry about he was being the best teacher he could be and for that, I’m grateful.
So Dear One’s, what’s holding you up in making a commitment for your greater Self in living a happier life for your Self, your beloved, family and of course your community. Take a risk in making a different choice for your self. It may just be the first step to you personal freedom and happiness. Blessings... Luis Molinar |
