There
was once a warrior living life in hell as best as he could. One day the
Angel of Death came to him while he slept. The Angel in all her beauty and
grace, stood in the warriors dream with her arms outstretched and
said she was taking him to heaven, the young warrior was so happy and he
replied, Oh, thats wonderful, I so want to go to heaven.
Then
she asked him, Are sure you want to go to heaven? The
warrior assured her that he was not only willing, but had been anxiously
waiting this moment. The Angel then asked him, Are you sure you are ready to
go to heaven? He said, Why of course, Ill do anything
to live in heaven.
She
started to tear each limb from his body, one by one. First, she removed
the warriors left arm and then his right, each time asking him, Are
you sure you want to go to heaven? He kept replying, Oh yes,
please take me home.
After
she had taken both arms and legs and was working on his ears, his mind realized
what was happening. He was shocked with grief, and astonished and surprised.
Hhow could this Angel, this ultimate teacher, be doing this to him?
This, he believed, was not the way to heaven.
His
mind totally judged the dismembering. When he began feeling the pain, he
started to voice his protest, But
but you said you were taking
me to heaven. This is not heaven. This hurts my body. The Angel replied, Letting
go of old limited beliefs, especially of what you think you are, is painful
and does hurt the mind. She then tore his nose off. He said with tears
in his eyes, But you said heaven. This is not anything
I thought heaven would be
it is so different. You lied to me
I
trusted you, this is not at all what I thought it would be.
To
the mind living in fear and resistance, it never is. The Angel replied.
