About Don Luis

Born in the heart of the Mexican culture and professionally trained in the United States, Don Luis Molinar incorporates his cultural heritage, professional/holistic education, and life experiences to guide individuals to create lives free of limitation.

A Dramatic Initiation

In 1969, while flying a combat helicopter for the U.S. Army in the Republic of Viet Nam, Don Luis was shot down. While undergoing surgery days later for his severe injuries, he felt himself leave his body and as he looked down upon his body on the surgical table he heard a man’s voice say “I’m losing him” and another say, “Hang on fly boy.” He then felt himself float out of the operating room, high above the coast of Viet Nam. Energetically pulled by his chest—willingly and painlessly—toward a bright light to which he was intensely drawn, he experienced a feeling as if “kindred souls” were waiting to welcome him on the other side of this light. Then suddenly he heard a voice telling him that it was “not time” and there was more for him to do, and he felt himself pulled back into his body, awakening after surgery.

Educational and Professional Pursuits

After Don Luis recuperated from a 3-month hospital stay, he dedicated himself to his professional studies. He earned a B.S. from Menlo School of Business Administration and later received an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird, School of Global Management. He worked in the international aviation field in the United States, Mexico and Latin America for well over a decade but, living his life “driven by the ways of the world”, he eventually lost the business he and his two partners were operating. And with the loss of the business, Don Luis lost all he thought he was.

Meanwhile, Don Luis had, for many of these years, buried his memory of what he’d experienced during surgery in Viet Nam, telling himself that what he had remembered was just a dream or something that he had imagined. He came to realize, however, that the memory of that experience—which showed him that he was more than his physical body and mind and there was much more to him than he had ever imagined—was truly a gift. He chose then to keep looking deeper within himself—past his mind—for his own truth.

A Process of Self Discovery

After realizing that he was not those material possessions or mental images he had created of himself, Don Luis entered a new process of Self discovery. He worked with a therapist at the Viet Nam Veterans Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico, who helped him transcend some of his wounds from the war in Viet Nam. Later he worked with Sandra Ingerman, M.A., C.S.C., Soul Retrieval Integration, in energetically healing wounds that kept him living in fear and a victim of his past life events. He was also trained by Sandra Ingerman to facilitate the Soul Retrieval and Extraction Integration process.

Don Luis worked at length with Derk and Kathleen Loaks, Essential Integration Studies; started ministry trainings with the Unity Church; worked briefly with Dr. Brough Joy, Essential Integration; received an Instructor/Therapist Certificate from Rama Birch, Master Yoga Academy La Jolla, California; and studied with Barbara Marx Hubbard, Conscious Evolution in Santa Barbara, California. When Don Luis met Don Miguel Ruiz, M.D., author of the best seller The Four Agreements, Mastery of Love, The Voice of Knowledge, and The Fifth Agreement, Don Miguel asked Don Luis to apprentice with him and the Toltec traditional teaching. In 1992, Don Miguel initiated Don Luis to carry on the ancient teaching of the Toltec, under the Eagle Knight lineage. Don Luis' most recent achievement in his continuing pursuit of professional education and training has been his Certification as a Professional Coach (CPC) from the Fowler Wainwright International Institute of Professional Coaching.

Since his initiation into the Toltec teaching Don Luis has devoted himself to doing the work for himself as well as teaching it to others. He works with individuals, couples, families, and small company management. He’s acquired a method of working with the family dynamic and family members that develops heart-centered communication skills, and he’s taken this teaching into the business world. He also continues to work on a core curriculum that helps men balance mind and heart, the masculine and feminine energies within each man.

In the Spring of 2011, Don Luis relocated from New Mexico to Spain and is now concentrating on conducting individual sessions and workshops in Emotional Responsibility and Men's Empowerment Teachings. He is also expanding his services as a Professional Coach, working with small and medium-sized businesses.
